Today we worked on creating our writing checklist to help us become better writers.
We used post it notes to show the ideas we came up with.
Hussnain said “don’t rush and edit”
Tarik said “write on the line”
Ali thought of “full stops”
Bree thought of “question marks”
Jasmine reminded us to “underline”
There were lots of other good ideas.
We had lots of fun making 3d shapes with spaghetti and marshmallows!
Jade: “Me, Abass & Ian we were making a pyramid out of marshmallows and spaghetti. It was the best because it was fun.”
Yousif: “Me, Connor & Alfarabi we tried to make a tent out of marshmellows and spaghetti sticks. We tried to stand the tent up and it was fun.”
Gow: “I liked doing marshmallows. We tried to make a shape. We make it with marshmallows and sticks. I liked it.”
Tevi: “It was difficult to get it to stand up on its own but we tried to lose lots of spaghetti and marshmallows and then it stood up. We couldnt stand up a square but then we broke it up and made it a pyramid.”
Broadie: We didnt make the biggest so we made the longest. We used heaps of spaghetti and marshmallows. We done rectangles and pyramids and we made a walkway.”
Kofi: “We were making a double cube it was a little challenging and then near the end when there was 2 minutes left we made it a different shape and it was joined up together.”
Nyachuot: “The block that we were making was hard and we were struggling and we couldnt make it stand by itself. But then when we did it as a pyramid it was able to stand by itself. we werent struggling anymore and it was really good. It felt groovy.”
Jasmine: ” Tevi and Yanni and me we were doing a marshmallow and spaghetti challenge. We tried to make a cube stand up by itself but then we tried to make a different shape. It was really fun it was like a triangle but 3D.”
Connor: “Me, Yousif & Alfarabi we didnt know we could make it because we thought it would be hard but it was easy and we didnt give up and we liked it.”
Today we had a bit of fun and had our very own disco.
We danced like a jellyfish, a wave, a dj, and lots of other things…
What a great start to the day. We were all working together doing different things.
This week we read Handa’s Hen and made lots of different things with chickens and eggs.
Seth : “we read a book about finding 10 chicks we did thumb painting. With white we did eggs and with yellow we did chicks.”
Jade: ” we made a pop up book with an egg chick and a chicken”
Ahsan ” we made a chicken out of paper and cut out the feathers”
Ali “we had googlely eyes and cut out the comb and we made a mouth a beak which was two triangles and a square. The book was folded.”
Fawad “we went outside and we draw a chicken”
What a lovely day it was today.
All week we have been learning about chickens. Today we went outside to draw our chickens in the sun.
Today we went skipping outside in the sun. Gow had a great time and we all counted up to 23 as he skipped.
“I skipped really high. ” Gow
“Gow did 4 more than me – I did 19” Ali.
Congratulations Australia…we are off to play in another World Cup next year in Brazil!!!
Who is going to be the first to find where Brazil is on a map? What countries is it near?
What a great photo of the students engaged in their learning.
Here they were working together in pairs looking at the nouns and adjectives in a story.
This story was a bit different – it only had a start and an end! The middle part of the story had to be completed by the students themselves.
Alison was really excited to be able to see the ‘atmosphere’ up on the dragon’s deck.
When she and jasmine were moving the earth around they could see it sometimes.
I wonder if they can remember what they did so they can see it again?
